Charles R. Connaghan, 57, of Cheyenne died May 16
at his home after a brave battle with cancer.
He was born July 22, 1945, in Cheyenne to Robert
J. Connaghan and Arta (Hutchins) Connaghan. He
graduated from St. Mary's School in 1963.
He married Leslie Buckles on Dec. 28, 1978. They
have three children, Mary Eileen Connaghan of
Philadelphia, Robert B. Connaghan and Elizabeth
Connaghan, both of Cheyenne.
In addition to his wife, children and parents, he is survived
by six sisters, Anne Connaghan and her husband Dean Leiser of
Denver, Jeanne Connaghan and her son Keith Connaghan-Jones of
Boulder, Julie Connaghan of Boulder, Amy Connaghan and her
children Ryan and Catharine Doll, Emily Madrid and her husband
Michael and their daughters Ashley and Heather of Cheyenne, and
Sarah Pfefferle and her husband Karl and their daughters Elise,
Marie, Eileen, Janine and Hannah of Cheyenne; and three brothers,
Paul Connaghan and his wife Libby and their daughters Nicole and
Cara of Las Vegas, Brian Connaghan of Cheyenne, and Louie Connaghan
and his wife Michelle and their daughter Lauren of Omaha, Neb.
Before his death, he had worked in oil and gas leasing and was a
mixer driver for Simon Contractors.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St.
Mary's Cathedral with the Most Rev. Joseph Hart, bishop emeritus
of Cheyenne, officiating. Internment followed at Olivet Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Paul Connaghan, Brian Connaghan, Louie Connaghan,
Dean Leiser, Michael Madrid, and Karl Pfefferle.
